Some term essays are written with the introduction already written, but many others want to write it in the first place and then work on the other details later. My advice is to start writing the introduction first if you’re planning to write an essay. If you’ve never done any writing before, start with the introduction and then fill in the details as you go along.

It’s unlikely that you will be able to recall every detail in your outline for a term paper. First, summarize the main idea of the paper. The introduction should do two things.
